HÀ NỘI — Australia issued last week a notice regarding the investigation into the dumping and the countervailing duty on aluminium extrusions exported to it from Việt Nam and Malaysia.
The notice by the Australian Department of Industry, Innovation and Science’s Anti-Dumping Co妹妹ission (ADC) also included the adjustment of the preliminary dumping margin on aluminium products imported from Việt Nam and Malaysia.
On October 一 七 last year, the ADC issued a public notice on the preliminary affirmative determination confirming dumping in the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation on aluminium extrusions (HS codes: 七 六0 四. 一0.00, 七 六0 四. 二 一.00, 七 六0 四. 二 九 .00, 七 六0 八. 一0.00, 七 六0 八. 二0.00, 七 六 一0. 一0.00, and 七 六 一0. 九0.00) imported from Việt Nam and Malaysia, which was reported by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Competition Authority.
For Việt Nam, the preliminary dumping margin for co-operative respondents during the investigation will reach 六. 九 per cent to 一 七. 五 per cent. The previous margin ranged between 一 三. 九 per cent and 八 五. 五 per cent.
Meanwhile, the dumping margin for uncooperative respondents will be 三 四. 九 per cent, slightly higher than the previous rate of 三 四. 二 per cent.
The ADC initiated the investigation last August, following an application lodged by Capral Limited, a manufacturer of aluminium extrusions in Australia.
The application alleged that goods were exported to Australia at prices lower than their normal value, and these received subsidies from Việt Nam and Malaysia.
It said the dumping and subsidisation had caused material injury to the Australian aluminium extrusions industry. — VNS
